Voice-Over Success DVD

Some of the things this guy talks about (which he arrogantly presents himself) - does help - but not enough and certainly not worth the price. If anyone truly loves this over-priced 'success' DVD then I feel sorry for them because they obviously do not have any friends in the audio-engineering fields. 30% of the advice he gives is something I can not find from my industry pal but the rest have already been answered. If you want to learn the techniques for voice over success I suggest you just befriend someone in the industry rather than buying this dvd. A waste of money. Its actual worth would be $20-$30 at best. Even though Harlan has been in the industry for so long - his advice is nothing new you could learn from audio engineers themselves.Disappointed.

Harlan is most certainly one of the real troopers in the voice over business, as his long list of credits and longevity speak volumes. There are numerous topics covered in the book pertaining to a career in voice overs, but the stand out quote has to be 90% of the work is getting the work, which translates into a lot of marketing and getting one's name out there. Practice makes perfect, and having the right tools, but it's the marketing that makes the phone ring. [...] and [...]
