I think very highly of rockford, they have been a staple in the automotive industry for many years, along with other favorites I have..these speakers are crisp , excellent highs and mids..Unfortunately this go round, didn't fit my application which was a huge disappointment..guess having a toyota comes with draw backs in the speaker world for aftermarket fitment..Seller sent refund fast when I sent the speakers back( unused and packaged back like new)Hope to buy from seller again..communication was great also..

What can I say, I've been using Rockford Fosgate stuff since somewhere around 1988-89. They've always made great speakers and amplifiers and these are no different. It's been quite a while since I purchased any kind of upgrade for a factory stereo and these did exactly what I needed them to do. I've had my 2003 Toyota Tundra Access Cab for 3 years and have always just run the factory speakers because they sounded decent enough. I decided to upgrade just the rear to see how good it would sound with the idea of maybe adding more in the future. These seemed like a good basis of a fairly modest system where I just fill all the factory locations with decent speakers and run every thing off the factory amp. Nothing too complicated and I'm not entering in to any audio competitions anytime soon, so I don't need to go all in. I decided on the 3-way coaxial 6.5" over the 2-way because I wanted the extra mid-range coming from the rear of the truck.As far as what Amazon recommends for a 2003 Tundra in the rear door locations, get the 6.75" and not the 6.5" like I did. I'm okay with my decision to have gone with the 6.5" but three scree holes match up with the factory locations and one has to be screwed in on the exterior of the speaker's metal rim. It's okay for me, I managed to deal with it accordingly. The 6.75" is the same speaker just in a little bit larger circular mounting ring to give you a few more options. This should have been my choice, but, again, I am perfectly happy with the 3-Way over the 2-Way. I also used fiber fill to take up space inside the door panel. Specs call for .46 cubic feet of VAS. There must be at least a solid 2+ cubic feet in a Tundra rear door. They're cavernous with no real obstructions, just an internal support/structure rail. I filled the void and it definitely helped keep those cones under control at higher volumes.These are also 4 Ohm compared to the factory 6 Ohm speakers. That means they're seeing a little more power than what the others were. I had discovered that the left rear factory speaker was blown and I had hoped it wasn't an amp channel. Turns out it *was* a blown factory speaker and the difference is incredible. I was thinking of getting sub for under the seat but I'm seriously considering not doing that now. Sound dampening in the doors along with two fresh poly 6.5 cones provides more than enough low end in a truck cab for an aging car audio enthusiast like me. It makes me want to invest in the two way component system for the doors, swap those out and call it good. Nice job, Rockford, for providing an affordable, quality upgrade option. Highly recommended and would buy again!

Make sure you use crossover, there not for bass. If crossed over they scream.

So I have a toy, a second car that I like to tinker with; Chevy Tracker. Don't spend much money on it, not worth spending much on. In any case, the speakers were blown on it when I got it and the original stereo was junk even in new condition. So I had a really nice JVC DVD Receiver from an old car of mine, paid $300. Pretty nice, 22rms out of the speakers. I also had a left over subwoofer. Just needed speakers. So I got four of the Kenwood KFC-1665S. Not sure I'm an audiophile, but I like music, have had Infinity speakers in a car before, but I didn't expect much from the Kenwoods given the price.Put them in and the first thing I notice was no vocals. I thought it could be location, the door speakers are all the way towards the floor. The bass was good from the subwoofer, but I would really crank these and the vocals just weren't there. Thinking the location was an issue, I bought a cheap but decent pair of tweeters. After that, when I turned it up high enough to hear some vocals, all I got were shrieking highs. So now I had bass and high treble, but little in between. I kept going into my wife's car which had the factory Infinity speakers and thinking "I know it's not going to be this good, but I should be able to hear the singing.So I did some research and, still not wanting to spend much more money, found the Rockford Fosgate R165X3. Reading the specs, they were obviously better size and materials; they had a rubber surround instead of phone. However, was it the location, could I do any better. Well, at $34, I decided to give them a try.As soon as I pulled them out of the box and compared them with the Kenwood I just pulled out, you could tell a huge different. The Rockford Fosgates (RFs) are technically 6-3/4 compared to the Kenwoods "6-1/2", but unlike the Kenwoods, the RFs used every inch of the space for the woofer. I remember when I opened the Kenwoods thinking they were really 5-1/4 in a 6-1/2 frame.Anyways, I hooked one side up. WOW, what a difference! The vocals were there. Even better, that "thwat, thwat, thwat" sound you hear in really tight rock or metal was there. I put the other one in and just sat there going "wow, what a difference!" The "wows" continued when I was driving the car with my daughters and/or wife in the car. I, of course, don't turn it up as loud. But before, where all I could hear was cymbals and bass (from the subwoofer), I could hear the words and still hear everyone else.Do yourself a favor, spend a few more bucks on the Rockford Fosgate R165X3 if they fit!
