Baldwin Reserve 9BR3530-002 Traditional Curve Right-Handed Privacy Lever in Polished Brass

I had to use many pounds of pressure to lower the lever enough to open the door - extremely difficult to operate and I would say it is not functioning optimally. Also, the sharp edges on the handle add pain to the hand given so much pressure when pushing down.If I tried to open the door with one or two fingers I would dislocate them - and I'm a man who works out with weights. While the product is very sturdy and solid, the execution is poor. The travel down to open was reasonable, perhaps 45 degrees (I returned a Schlage because I had to push that lever down nearly 90 degrees), but this one simply took too much force to push the lever down.The whole point is to be able to open it when your hands are somewhat full - can't do that with this lever: my son dropped a glass last night (one in each hand) because the level was so hard to use. I'm resigned to stop by Home Depot or Lowes when I drop this off at the UPS store as I simply just need to test the display levers first.

I discovered that this Baldwin part does not fit the 1 7/8" hole in my door, which is a USA standard. It needs a 2 1/8" hole. A visit to a hardware store for a hole saw to enlarge the hole, I found not only a hole saw in that dimension, but a series of clever devices to allow you to enlarge the hole without a pilot. Wow, seems like all out door knobs are coming from China, and need a 50mm diameter hole.The Baldwin locksets are built tough and are beautiful at the same time. It operates smooth as silk and shines like a mirror. Baldwin has never been inexpensive, but you get more than you paid for.

I like these units. They are well built, heavy, sturdy easy to install. My only gripe is the price has been steady going up to now its double what I paid several years ago. so I save my points and will soon have all knobs replaced.

High quality as expected. Only issue is the color. We have a number of older Baldwin handle sets. The brass color of these is just a bit darker than the older ones.

Great improvement over a previous bathroom Baldwin privacy lever. Great improvement in the mechanism.
