Mystery Dog Lead, 5 m Retracting Lead up to 50 kg Solid Nylon Ribbon with Stop and Lock Button, Retractable Lead for Large/Medium/Small Dogs

This lead is a complete waste of money. There is almost no truth to the product description. The actual lead is flappy and so light weight that it barely retracts, particularly when it’s fully extended and/or windy when it flutters and gets all tangled round the dogs’ legs. The lock button stopped working after about five days and then the fabric became frayed and eventually just snapped. Mystery is the right name for this...it’s a mystery how they can even sell it!

Bought this August 1st and last night the lead snapped. Luckily it was night time and not near a busy road as my 5 month old Dalmatian is quite excitable and not road trained as yet.Return window closed so can’t send it back despite the actual fabric snapping. Waste of money and not safe

This is much better than a conventional lead as when the dogs are in a wide open area they can move freely 5 metres away from you, saving you having to run about on a short lead.The mechanism is sturdy, but operation is sometimes difficult. For example, when the dog is pulling, trying to unlock the lead is difficult, they have to not be pulling for this to work.That said, when it's locked, it's firmly locked and it definitely won't go anywhere which is good.My puppy tends to bite the lead and hasn't grown out of it yet, after a few weeks of walking I've noticed no sign the mesh is going to break which is good.The handle is grippy and feels comfortable to hold.On the whole, I'm happy

Very comfortable and practical, although sometimes a little slow to retract. The main problem is wind. If there is a bit of a cross breeze then it almost entirely fails to retract - the wind catches the flat fabric and it just starts to vibrate, creating enough tension to prevent the retraction spring from working. Other than that, I'm pleased with it. I'd say more suited to urban and country walks rather than in wide open, exposed environments.

I bought this for my 10kg Parson Russell. We've gone through quite a few retractable leads in her 6 years! It's usually the mechanism that stops working. I liked the reviews and the Lifetime Guarantee from the seller. Really smooth brake and lock mechanism!UPDATE 21 OCTOBER 2019. The retracting mechanism broke. I contacted Zwini and they are sending me a replacement as promised in the product description. Great, as I really like this lead!

Bought this to walk my 6yr old Rottweiler. She’s 40kgs and walks well on a lead but if she does pull this is strong enough to reign her back! The lead is a tape rather than a string, so less chance of a nasty burn if it catches your hand or leg (talking from experience!). Really easy to use and clicks into either extending or locked securely. Would recommend and definitely buy again. Comfortable in your hand too.

We have a rescue dog of about 2 years old. She lightly bites the lead when excited about going for a walk. The lead quickly frayed and had to be trimmed with scissors, so not too heavy duty or long lasting. Now the spring mechanism has broken and the lead no longer works.

I like this product because it gives our quite wilful rescue lab a bit of freedom when a walk, giving us a chance to rein him in when we need to. The handle is quite expectantly large because of what it does, but it does limit what you can take with you.
