It works!

My doctor used a similar product on a foot sore to help it heal. He gave me the brand name Cavilon and suggested I order some for home care. I like the Cavilon better than the more expensive stuff he used at his office!

My skin is sensitive to adhesive tapes, and this works well to protect the skin around the wound. No more rashes from the adhesives!

First reacted to adhesive when I broke my toe. Back then I just wrapped my toe in a shred of Kleenex, then taped it to its buddy. No adhesive contact, and my skin stopped peeling off.Later on the reaction got worse. Redness in the first few hours, then peeling if I kept it on for a day, then more peeling and weeping if I tried for 2 days. Eventually the damage from the bandaid was worse than the original boo-boo. I think it's the adhesive, because cheaper bandages give a much bigger reaction, but even latex-free still cause significant damage.I read about this stuff, and while my condition isn't nearly as serious as a lot of these reviewers, I GREATLY appreciate being able to use bandaids without having a lingering mark. Last time I wore one for an hour - WITHOUT Cavilon - I could see the mark for about 2 months. With these wipes, I don't worry about it... I keep a few in my car, my bathroom, and my desk at work.Bottom line: my skin stays happy. SO worth it!!!

I purchased this product to use as a barrier between the electrodes on my Quell unit (Quell recommends some form of barrier like this to prevent damage to your skin from wearing electrodes for a long period of time) and the skin on my calf. I used the very first one today so I can not say yet how well it will perform, but it certainly went on easy and covered the entire area (2" wide, around 3/4 of my calf). My only concern, after reading the instructions that came with the wipes, is whether I will need to buy another type of product to remove the film that is not peeled off my skin when the electrodes are removed. Or will gentle scrubbing with soap and water do the job?

These skin protectant wipes are the best by far. She has tried others and they couldn't measure up. Hopefully, they stay in stocks. That's the only downside. They seem to run short at times. Thank you.

My daughter is allergic the adhesive on the Daytrana patch she wears every day. After trying many alternatives, the patch still works the best for her and has been life changing in a way that it's still worth the skin irritation. This barrier film works really well to make it bearable to wear all day. She still has redness and irritation from the patch, but it's significantly better with this product. She otherwise wouldn't be able to tolerate the patch at all. I find that it works best when I wait 8-10 seconds after applying the film when it's still sticky and then apply the patch. It doesn't work as well if I wait longer when the film is completely dry... or if it's completely wet instead of sticky, the patch won't stick at all. Also, I strongly prefer these single application wipes, rather than the spray. With these wipes I can be more precise where it's being applied and the spray actually smells like mildew. These little wipes are better.

Cavilon is the very best product out there!If you are allergic to adhesives, using wound care tape/appliances, port care, skin breakdown/raw, stoma issues, etc., then Cavilon is a must have for your medical box!I have an Illiostomy (moved 5's), several abdominal scars and severe skin breakdown around my stoma.I have tried many other skin prep products with no luck. They either burn during application, don't cover completely, not enough liquid, leave a thick residue and/or do not protect me skin from tapes/wafers.Cavilon has a 'sponge' applicator, plenty of liquid, 99% non-stinging, almost no leftover residue and forms an amazing barrier between skin and tape appliance.Downside of Cavilon, this product is not covered by Medicare.
