I like this lock as its fully mechanical which removes the worry of replacing batteries. The buttons are stainless steel which reduces the breakage and most important, it was very easy to install not to mention to recode. I just wish the numbers on the pad were luminous so i can see the numbers in low light.

Great for interior lock on door to change code seems like a challenge but it is a good lock and worth the money

Like many others, I bought this because I wanted to install a deadbolt in a door that only had a latch mechanism and I didn't want to drill another hole for a stand-alone deadbolt. However, I thought the inside oval knob of this model was a little bit funny looking by itself and was hard to pull open the relatively heavy door I have. I wanted to replace the inside knob with a regular round unkeyed knob. I found this one at Home depot: Defiant model TGX230B Hall and Closet Hartford collection. I only used the knob without the spindle obviously. The hole in the Defiant knob that accepts the spindle is a little bit too narrow, so I had use a file to widen it slightly, took only a couple minutes and shaved off probably less than 0.1 mm. Then the spindle from the Elemake unit slips in perfectly. Indoor locking and unlocking works as intended with this modification. If you can't find this particular model of Defiant, just go to a big box store near you and find one that has a square-shaped hole that accepts the spindle, close in size to the Elemake.

Good value for the price, pretty simple instructions and very handy when you're trying to let friends or family answer the home when you're not there. Easy to program the code and very sturdy and good quality!

Sticking a lot

I have purchased 5 of these locks. The first one i bought i have had no issues with after 6 months plus use so i said ok lets buy three more. For some reason this batch is not working properly.... you enter the wrong code and the lock becomes inoperable form the keypad side. Not fun when you lock your self out of a large building and you have to walk all the way around . I am mechanically very handy and thought OK maybe installation error. So i tried reinstalling them and the same thing happens at random on all locks but one

I wanted to give this a 3-Star rating, but thought the lock itself actually is not that bad. The BIG drawback is that when you enter a code, it DOES NOT MATTER WHAT SEQUENCE YOU PUNCH IN THE NUMBERS! I found this ridiculous. This is a big security flaw. You do need to select a minimum of 5 characters to set a code, so someone would still have to guess all five. You can do more.Other than that, the lock functions as intended. It is a deadbolt. You key in your code, then turn it clockwise and it stays there until you turn it back to set the deadbolt.

The lock is great and the service from this company is exceptional. I ordered this lock when building a shed for a customer. When installing the lock, I could not get it to reset. I contacted customer service and left a message on a Friday afternoon. I received a voicemail back later that afternoon but I was done work for the day. I also received a text after the voicemail. Saturday morning at 7:30 am, I sent the person a text asking for an email address stating I would prefer to respond with my issue in an email as it was too much to explain in a text.I expected a response on Monday and to my surprise the person responded immediately providing an e-mail address but also said or you can call me. I called the person and discussed my issue with this person on Saturday morning at 7:30am. After walking through some common issues and suggestions which I had already tried, she determined that I should return the lock through Amazon which is where I purchased it.When I went to amazon, there was no option to return it as a month had elapsed. I texted the person back and explained this. She requested a screen shot of my order from amazon and when I sent it she said she would send me another lock. The prompt service I received from this company was incredible. The new lock arrived a few days later and worked like a charm. The locking mechanism in this passage set requires no batteries and is a creative act of engineering brilliance. It's unfortunate the first lock didn't work but it was actually a pleasure to go through this situation based on the service I received. Top Notch!

Very easy to setup. It's enough for security. Best safety setup 6 digits password. But not use same member or letter in 6 digits password. Perfect lock.strong and sturdy. I bought total 8 locks for my all rooms. Thanks good products.Possibilities for 6 digits password = 12×11×10×9×8×7÷1÷2÷3÷4÷5÷6=924 and so it's enough for security. Why do I need battery power electronic lock?I noticed one customer claimed that password doesn't work. In fact, he installed wrong direction. Check my attached photo. If you install the long lock part wrong direction, notice the small plastic sheet must be faced to inside not outside to the password lock. In fact, I did wrong direction first, but I figured out the reason. Hope to help other customers to shoot trouble.

This lock looks great. Good sturdy materials. Deadbolt is very healthy. Comes with great instructions and all the tools you need to do the install. Read the instruction pamphlet first and you will totally understand the genius of the combination, how it works and why the “order” of the combination isn’t important. One word of caution: be careful the first time you try it out-the combination panel is very close to the turn knob. You will likely injure your knuckles but believe me you will only do this once! Lol!

Worked fine for four months and then broke. Feels like flimsy metal internal working. Using better brand name quality this time.

The limitations are: you cannot use the same number twice in your selected combination and the numbers in your combination can be selected in any order. I.E. if your combo is set to 1234, then 4321 or 1432 etc. will unlock. In a electronic lock, the longer the combo the more difficult it would be to crack. I believe the opposite is true with these mechanical locks. I would go with maybe 5 digits max? Despite this, after buying the 1st, I purchased a second being fully aware of their limitations. The big advantage of mechanical is no power required.
