Amazing power!! I’ve used a lot of different grinders over the last 25 years and this thing is a beast!! It has 3HP!! The 414 model (flexvolt) is just over 2HP and that one has a ton of power. But the upgraded 418 model is significantly more powerful while also increasing battery life. No brainer when They are within $20 from each other.It’s quite a bit heavier than the 20 volt brushless XR grinder (415 model) but that’s because it’s got 3-4x the power. The weight is balanced out well though, so you don’t notice it over the course of the day especially using the handle.This model also comes with 2 different size guards so your able to run a typical 4-1/2” wheel or a 6”. Something you don’t have to purchase if you’re trying to run larger wheels.I’ve used corded models from Dewalt, Metabo (old school late 90’s professional model), Hitatchi, Makita (corded and 18v cordless) for heavy metal fab etc. most of the models I’ve used were industrial models NOT the $79 lowes special. This 418 Dewalt grinder doesn’t seem to want to jump out of your hand like a big corded models plus has more power, cuts faster and NO CHORD!!!Although the battery life is good ……. You will want a second battery if using this all day every day.I have a ton of Dewalt 20v and 60v tools as well as many others (not a fan boy just have a lot of batteries!!) and this thing CRANKS!!Also Check out the 60v 9” Demo / Concrete saw from Dewalt also if doing a lot of on site rebar, concrete, metal roof etc. It works AWESOME!! Lots more power than the 9” Stihl battery Demo saw and a lot nicer cutting lots of rebar or metal roofing vs a grinder for on site (hurry up) work . Unlike the Dewalt, The Stihl seems to bog down and stall with any pinching or stress. Big power difference between the 2!!! If you work on houses you know that Most things are a pain in Butt…… make it easier on yourself!! You won’t be disappointed!!

This is a great tool. And the 6amp charger that came with the kit is fantastic too. The grinder has LOTS of torque and plenty or RPM for cutting and grinding. I bought this to replace an old Makita AC powered grinder, and the cordless Dewalt beats it easily. I also like being able to use it as a 4-1/2" grinder too. Having both guards included give a great deal of flexibility. Battery life with the included 9ah pack is pretty good. I sharpened 6 mower blades with it and was still at 2 of three bars on the gauge. Only minor complaint, the disc change is not as easy as on some of the other grinders I have seen. Pretty good, just not "the best".

Way more power than I expected for a cordless. The guard is easy to use and not too hard to swap out.I would buy this again.UpdateSeveral hard core uses later and still works Great. Still 5 starsUpdate. I use it almost every work day. One of my favorite tools.

I purchased this grinder to clean rust and old paint from a metal fence. The location and size of the fence made it inconvenient to use my corded grinder, so I bought this cordless model based on user reviews. Without question, this tool is a beast. It never bogged down under the most intense use and was light enough to make using it a pleasure. The power on this 60 volt model is exceptional - particularly considering it is battery powered.The downside for this tool is battery life. I have one 9 AH battery and two 6 AH batteries along with a rapid charger. That was not enough for continuous use. I would deplete the 9 AH battery first and start the recharge. By the time I depleted the two 6 AH batteries, the 9 AH battery would not quite be fully charged....so it was time to take a recharge break. If you are going to do quick jobs, the 9 AH battery is fully adequate and will last a considerable time. You might even consider going to the 12 AH battery that is available - but expensive.You will not go wrong with this tool. It's powerful and loaded with features and will perform as well as a corded model until the battery is depleted. Purchase the package with two 9 AH batteries and you will not miss the cord - unless you have lots of continuous grinding to do.

Good tool

Dropped the handle attachment on the threaded bolt side somehow-.- and the bolt came off. Just take some pliers and pull it right through and it should grip just fine again for you. Maybe a dab of super glue on the head of the bolt to make sure it doesn’t knock loose again. Other than that, the grinder itself is an amazing tool. Kills a 9AH battery in 40 minutes

I got this to cut hard sandstone and it works great. I like being able to use 4 or 6 inch blades.
