Fantastic Fix for Slow Laptop!
This was a great way to extend and improve the operation of our older laptop. We are in our mid 70's with minimal computer experience so we asked our family consultant... Our PhD grandson suggested this fix and it solved our problems. We have a 6 year old laptop that was getting slower and slower to start up, and run especially after updating. Defragging helped a bit as did deleting stuff. These only helped for a while. My grandson explained that the disc on the laptop gets worn and doesn't work effectively after time. Replacing it with a solid state device (SSD) eliminates that problem. Now this computer works like new again. The startup went from 15 minutes to 3 seconds! We also got the USB connecting wire to copy all data from the disc to the SSD before opening the laptop and removing the disc and replacing it with the new SSD. The device comes with instructions, and onscreen assistance but for understanding of how to switch the devices we looked on YouTube under our specific computer on how to replace the device.Ours was just unscrew access plate on the bottom... Remove disc and slide in SSD.

Quality all the way.
Easy cloning with Samsung Magician from old HDD with USB 3 to sata Cable. Perfect, now with 16 gigs of ram and this new SSD the old HP compact elite 8300 boots in 10 seconds. All good! One thing to consider: I installed the second one in an Acer 5742-7120 laptop and rand into an issue. To match the plug in the laptop I had to drive out the screw holes in the rack because the samsung ssd is rounded on the top and would not fall deep enough in the rack. After a drill out of the rack it went fine. The first one installed in the HP compact elite 8300 without a hitch, perfect. saving old computers can be challenging but gratifying.

Reliable, Durable, Fast and Dependable SSD
I've used these drives for quite a while. Fast and reliable! Ordered 3 of these this time as a third internal drive on 3 PC Towers. First two drives are PCIe M2 SSD's. Would have put 3 of the M2's in each but didn't have an available PCIe Slot for a third drive. So i added this SATA SSD that I've had great prior results with. Th M2's are so much faster! So if you have an available PCIe Slot get an M2 Adaptor and a Samsung M2 990 Pro Heatsink for a great upgrade in speed. Hope this information is helpful.Performance:Big improvement over HDD'sDrive quality:Thousands of hours with zero problemsSpeed:Fast boot up and file transfersValue for money:Good price for a great SSD

Works great!
It works good however I have an odd problem bot related to the SSD. When I cloned the drive and changed the boot order in the BUOS everything was fine. Then to tell which was the old HDD I disconnected the old HDD and booted from SSD. All of the sudden in file explorer the drive shows up a drive F:/ not C:/ and has baquestion mark next to it. In disk utility it shows both drives as the SSD being C:/ and the HDD being E:/. However in file explorer it does not recognize the HDD at all and the SSD (drive F:/) has a question mark next to it and I can't seem to get it changed or access files. Both drives are not corrupted as the computer boots fine from both the HDD and the SSD. I should have just used disk utility to figure out which drive was which when I was going to format the old HDD. Know I'm stuck trying to figure out how to get this fixed. 20 command lines later and changes in partitions and the boot order and UEFI or Legacy and still no results. I'm going to have to call a professional. But the SSD itself is excellent, computer boots in 5 seconds couldn't be happier. It's just the file explorer problem that angers me because if I wanted to access program files for example I wouldn't be able to. Everything else like I said is fine. Can download, surf the web, run applications, no problem....

Fantastic upgrade
Installation is straightforward, and the 2.5” form factor makes it compatible with most setups. From the moment it's installed, the speed difference is night and day. Boot times are lightning fast, apps launch instantly, and file transfers are smooth and snappy. What really stands out is the reliability. Samsung’s reputation in the SSD space is well-earned, and this drive delivers consistent performance without hiccups. It’s also a great value in terms of endurance and read/write speeds, making it ideal for IT professionals, content creators, and everyday users alike.Whether you're refreshing an aging system or building something new, this drive strikes a perfect balance between performance, reliability, and ease of use. Highly recommended.

Replaced original HDD in my iMac 14,2 Late 2013 - this model iMac REQUIRED an adapter
Upgraded the original Apple HDD in my iMac 14,2 Late 2013 to 1TB. NOTE: since SSDs are smaller (2.5") than the old HDDs (3.5") it required a SATA SSD 2.5” to 3.5” Converter Bracket adapter. I also purchased the NewerTech AdaptaDrive 2.5" to 3.5" Drive Converter Bracket from Amazon. Also, I had to reuse the mounting posts from the old HDD to fit into the Apple OEM HDD mount. Works great - runs faster and cooler.
