My little pal Wrigley has kidney disease and primarily requires foods low in protein, sodium, potassium and phosphorus. When I looked for treats for him that are suitable, I found the Wild Ones Treats, Mattie's Treats, and there's a new one called Kidney Restore Dog Treats. There's not much else out there specific to kidney health although Sam's Yams has some decent options too. Thankfully, these Wild Ones treats are excellent quality and are organic and aside from a small amount of sunflower oil, there are no ingredients I take issue with.These Wild One treats are about 1"-1.25" in diameter, shaped like a circle, and have a crunchy cookie-texture. Each 8oz. bag of Wild One Treats contains about 60 pieces. There are 14.7 calories per treat.. They have an 18-month shelf life and are vegan. However they are not gluten-free as all the Wild One treat varieties are made with a barley base.As a quick comparison, the Mattie's treats are larger, crunchy, and are heart-shaped. I like the Mattie's size and shape better, but the ingredients in the Wild Ones treats are more natural and are organic. The Mattie's treats are not organic and use GMO canola oil, an ingredient I do not like.The Kidney Restore treats are crunchy and different sizes. Thankfully no cheap oils are used, some ingredients are organic, and the main ingredients are rice, tapioca, and oat flour.Overall, in terms of healthful ingredients I would rank the Wild's Ones treats #1, the Kidney Restore treats #2, and Mattie's #3. Another big plus about the Wild One treats is that they come in different flavors.Most importantly, the Wild One treats are good for Wrigley and he loves them. He's 12 years old and has a few major and minor health issues but is still an active dog - he's actually quite a handful, lol. Keeping him well-nourished and well-loved is the priority, and I am happy to say that the Wild Ones treats help us to do just that.

My daughter's dog is allergic to meat so we were so happy to find a treat that she can enjoy. All of our dogs love them. They are crunchy and the perfect size for our small dogs.

My dogs seem to really like these treats! I prefer treats without meat because I don't like handling meaty treats when I am out with my pups, besides they get all their meat needs met thru their diet. The only complaint with these treats is they can be a little crumbly, which means wasted crumb treats you don't use. On the other hand I do like that they aren't so hard that you can't break them into smaller pieces. So I guess it's worth the trade off. I would definitely recommend trying these. I am a returning customer for sure.
