Original USA-Made Camp Safe 12 Gauge Perimeter Trip Alarm Device

Why did you pick this product vs others?:We use this alarm as a deer repellent, and it works great. Everything else we have tried before would not stop them from eating our fruit trees, but this does. Planning on purchasing several more.

Built very well. Have it in my woods!

It is well built and works. I don't use it everyday. For the most part it sits in my bug out bag. I have confidence it will be there and work when I need it.

Excellent deterrent, needs less resistance on pin. Wet down 800 grit on pin, just a little sanding at a time on the pin until you get it the way you want it

The media could not be loaded. Works well!The video shows a 12 gauge skeet shooting shell (lead removed and then loaded with baking flour) to show the dispersion pattern if a person were to use a pepper round. I would have given it 5 stars except for a couple things.I filed the release pin because it had a burr that was increasing trip pull force required to trigger the shell. The pin was catching slightly.One thing I don’t like but may be ok… the tension dent is in the center line with the center fire of the shell. If corroded or stuck I wonder if the tension dent pin could fire the round while the shell were inserting quickly. IMO the tension dent should be off center with the firing pin.

Use these when camping in areas most people don't go. Use 12 gauge noise shells. Never know when big foot gets curious. Ha! However can put a more lethal shell but not a good idea. Unless for home defense. Never know about zombies. Made in USA. Much better quality then cheaper Chinese made. Tried those and sometimes didn't ignite shell.

Had an issue where I received only one of them but the company made it right and rushed the second one to me in record time. I am very pleased with the product and the company. I will order from them again.

A couple or three things I think might be helpful:First: The very LAST step in your set-up has to be inserting the blank. In other words, don't arm your tripwire until it is strung the way you want it. Once you've got it all set up, THEN insert the flash-bang round.Second: When you attach the device to tree or post, make sure the detent, (the opening for the base of the blank shell) is facing outward or you'll have to unattach it and turn it around.Third: Some of the shells used in these devices produce a bright flash as well as a loud bang. Be careful to clear away any potentially flammable debris under the device (leaves, pine needles, stuff like that.)Last: Consider the height of the animals you want to scare off. Position your string high enough to let the harmless ones pass under. I use 20 to 24 inches high. I'm not concerned about squirrels, rabbits, or raccoons, and I especially do not want to startle a skunk.
