This moss was great! Once you put it in water it breaks up easily and is usable within a couple minutes. The moss is clearly real moss, not the fake stuff you get in the plastic bags. It looks beautiful in my gardens. I ordered the five (5) pound package and will have no problem using it all.

BEST Sphagnum Moss I have ever bought!!! No debris, smells like the woods, a small 3.5 x 2 inch block of compressed moss soaked in an 8 qt pot expanded to almost fill the pot!!! This moss is so impressive and exactly what I’ve been searching for as plant covering! Just soak it in water and it hydrates and expands into beautiful moss. It is great color and quality, but does stink so dump the water or even soak it outside too. It’s a great value as you really get a larger quantity of product once soaked. I’d recommend. I wouldn’t use this in place of sphagma moss for a moss pole but makes a good top dressing for the price. Smells like fresh cut wet grass.

The moss looks great. The color is a nice green and the moss really looks healthy. Don’t underestimate how much it expands when you put it in water. Turns into a lot! You definitely get more for the money. It does protect the plants soil from drying. Great value. You must use patience and care with using this product. It can be messy if you rush.

The product seems like good quality, long fibers, very colorful. Not sure if I got a bad batch, but it has stunk up my whole house. I used it to pot some orchids, and after every watering, the room is filled with a really foul wet dog smell, some have described it as fishy. Since I really liked the look of it, I tried to clean it. I soaked it for 30 minutes in water with white vinegar, strained rinsed, repeated three or four times. It still smells, but not as bad. I’m going to give it a couple weeks to see if this smell dissipates.

I soaked the 5 oz package in water in a 13x9” pan for about 30-40 minutes and it expanded to fill almost the whole pan. The directions say to soak it for a few minutes, but I let it soak until it wouldn’t absorb any more water. I let the excess water drain and it was very easy to separate and work with. I used it to generously top the dirt in five 6” pots and two 12” pots with houseplants. This is real moss with varying natural colors from green to brown. For those reviewers who stated it was not much moss and that it was hard to work with, I would say maybe they didn’t soak it to let it expand first. And for those who said it smells bad, I would question if they have ever walked in damp woods that have moss! This moss has a natural, earthy smell that is exactly what it should be and smells like a forest. Once I placed it around my houseplants I never noticed any smell in my house from it. The thank you note in the package was also a nice touch.

I often struggle to find Moss for my Worm Farms, my usual source being the store that claims,"You Can Do It".Sadly of late, I have been "Unable To Do It" through their failure to keep a stock of the product.Therefore this was a blessing from Heaven, swiftly despatched and subsequently received.The Moss is absolutely brilliant.
