1883: Season One [DVD]

We watched every currently available episode of Yellowstone and were lost without our daily fix so bought both this and the next one, 1923 which we haven't watched yet.The story follows the original Dutton family as they head west and this is again not for the faint hearted. I loved the story and was completely engaged with the characters. We discover why the family ended up in Montana and much about the hardships endured by those who set out on the long journeys to a better life. Well written, well photographed/filmed and well acted. Well worth watching.

Thoroughly enjoyable, binge watched every episode in a few days, brilliant story line of an epic wagon trail across America, with romance and heart ache, great acting, definitely recommend for Western enthusiastic's

A very enjoyable season

I thoroughly enjoyed this very moving DVD illustrating the perils of life on the plains for travellers. I liked the portrayal of Native Americans as human beings who endured cruelty ond losses themselves often overlooked by the ghastly 'Savages' tag. The main stars were imressive. Sam Elliot is good old Sam Elliot never dissapoints. Tim McGraw I did not know but his screen presense was immense. I was most impressed with Isobel May who really is an emerging acting talent. Her raw emotion when she lost her beloved boyfriend and had the arrow taken out of her tummy was so convincing it was three dimensional. Her modern highlighted blond hair was 150 years ahead of its time but that was not her fault. Faith Hill and LaMonica Garret 10/10 added to the fine cast. A great watch! Conratulations to all concerned!
