WiltonOpen Star Piping Tip #1M

Lets be honest, Wilton is to cake decorating what Shark is to Vacuuming. I'm talking top of the pile. I have lost count of the various Wilton products I have purchased over the years to compliment my baking needs. I usually use a closed star tip for piping on cupcakes but wanted a larger opening as i was decorating over 50 and needed to save some time. This tip produces a lovely thick rosette of buttercream, one blob in the middle and a single spiral around and the top of the cupcake was completely covered, resulting in a beautiful swirl. Came out really smooth and continuous. this is now my go to tip for decorating and I will always levitate to this brand!

I had to re-order this as the first time it arrived with one tip/spike damaged. However the replacement one I ordered was perfect. It was my first time piping and it was fairly easy. I’m new to piping so I’m not perfect but you can see in the picture that it does the job.

The media could not be loaded. This product saved my life! If you are trying to make professional looking icing on cupcakes and cakes then this product is for you! After spending £40 on a cake making set which included 24 nozzles none of them were fit for purpose they were too small and was not giving that classic cupcake icing swirl look. This nozzle is all you need it is large and gives that classic cupcake swirl . Wish I’d bought this one sooner!! Super fast delivery too. You won’t regret it !! The proof is in my video

With a little practice piping roses becomes addictive! Im a novice baker and have thoroughly enjoyed using 1m tip. It took upto 3 weeks to arrive but well worth the wait. My recent cupcakes i was adventurous and used 3 different colours in one piping bag to give a rainbow effect. Amazing results and my family were impressed. So overall i prefer 1m over 2d.

The product itself is good, but it was not packed very well, so the piping nozzle became damaged in transit. “Okay,” I thought, “maybe it’s not that bad.” When I frosted my cupcakes, they were so ugly that my flatmate and I were on the floor in tears because we couldn’t stop laughing. So 5-stars for the product, 5-stars for the happy memory it created, and 0-stars for the packaging. Oh, and I would share a photo of the cupcakes with the frosting, but they are not suitable for others’ eyes.

This is great. Since I started using this, people have been asking me if I have a baking business. I recommend it. I use it with the Asda disposable piping bags with no issues.

Lots of lovely buttercream designs can be created from 1 great piping nozzle. Highly recommended.
