The original plastic one always seem to shave off, making the joycons no longer able to lock in place. I have had any issues with these shaving off. They hold both joycons firmly in place.

For such a cheap price, and quite possibly the easiest fix on a joycon I have done, this should be standard. The metal buckles against the metal rails hold well and don't chip like the default plastic ones do. Simple, effective, and now I don't have a 5 year old dropping the switch when the latch fails. Everyone is happy.

Bought these to upgrade my joycons as I was already reshelling them and swapping out joysticks and these little buckles are amazing! You can feel a significant difference immediately, way less wobble and a more sturdy feel.

These "Lock Buckles" are good. They replaced the ones in the joycons, which can easily be compromised by too much pressure. I replaced four pairs by watching a youtube video, and other than a spring that shot out across the room and took 10 minutes to find, it was reasonably straightforward. Ensure you have a good set of screwdrivers because this set does not include them.
