One Major Flaw

1st set I thought there was a defect. Anytime you'd press the left ear button it would squelch quite loudly in the ear. Not comfortable to hear. Got a replacement, same problem. Found out this is an overlook by Apple. Anything but a full on perfect press of the button will cause a loud squeal or squelch in the ear. These are much better and more comfortable than the Gen 1's... however, for a $250 set of earbuds they should not be squealing in your ears if you don't press the button perfectly. Volume control is good. Fit is great. Color is cool. Buttons are garbage. Battery life is awesome.

Better that original to me

The Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds are absolutely impressive. From the moment I started using them, I was blown away by the exceptional sound quality and powerful bass, which truly enhances the listening experience. The noise canceling feature is outstanding — it effectively blocks out background noise, allowing me to fully immerse myself in my music, workouts, or calls without distractions. The secure fit and lightweight design make them perfect for long sessions, whether I’m at the gym or on the go. I also appreciate the long battery life and reliable Bluetooth connectivity, which ensures a seamless experience without constant interruptions. Overall, the Powerbeats Pro 2 deliver top-tier performance and comfort, making them an excellent investment for anyone looking for high-quality wireless earbud

The best Earbuds for working out! Period!

Let me preface this review by saying I preordered these and have only had them for four days now. Typically I would wait longer to review a product, but saw the lousy reviews and felt compelled to tell a different story. I have no idea why these got 1 star. I know some technology has cult followings....an example might be Apple vs Android. I don't know, I don't get it.So you know where I'm coming from I used the Apple AirPod Pro v1 before upgrading to these new Powerbeats Pro 2s. The AirPod Pro v1s were good until they were not. I had them replaced under warranty once due to a crackling noise that seem to plague those. It came back and the warranty had long expired. So for me it was either simply upgrade to the AirPod Pro v2 or look elsewhere. I decided to look elsewhere and consulted a gym friend who had the Powerbeat Pro v1s. He raves about them. I started looking online and the timing was perfect! I saw that I could preorder the newer version. So I quickly pulled the trigger after doing some research. I saw the AirPod Pro v2 go on sale but that was not enough to entice me to stick with them.On a side note: My gym buddy also upgraded from the previous version and is happy with his purchase. One of the reasons I was ready to move away from the AirPod Pros was the fit. When working out they would always come loose and slip out. The Powerbeats seem to have addressed that problem with the ear loop and man, do they fit and feel great on the ear.....you don't even know that you have them on.They sound great! They sound just as good or better than the AirPod Pros when they were working properly and this is no surprise as they are built on the same technology as the AirPod Pro 2s. The bottom line is they are both Apple products.I haven't used all the features since they are so new. For example, the heart monitor is cool but I have an Apple Ultra Watch that I work out in that tracks my heart. As I understand it the watch takes precedence when you are wearing both.So again, this might be an early review but I felt compelled to share my positive experience. I'll try to come back and update it as I continue to work out in them. If you are on the fence go check out some of the "professional" reviews from the various tech sights that review these products. They all give them pretty high marks.Fit and feel = A++Sound Quality = A+Battery life = A+*I do not do reviews for a living and I paid full price for the earbuds.

Better than expected sound. Phenomenal battery life and comfort. HRM is impractical.

These were a gift I received from the basketball team I coach. I have always admired the Powerbeats from a distance but never owned a pair. I own the original Airpods Pro and Airpods Max as well as Soundcore Liberty Pro 3 & 4. My Airpods Pro are dying and the Max are uncomfortable when wearing my eyeglasses. On arrival, I was pleased with the sound. Not what I've typically come to associate with Beats. The bass didn't seem overdone. It was pleasant. Not as good as my Liberty Pro 3s but not bad either. I initially found them difficult to put in, but over the past month I've gotten better at it. Putting them on while wearing eyeglasses is still slightly tricky though. Speaking of eyeglasses, I'm always concerned about how any headphone that goes over the ear will feel while wearing glasses. Fortunately, I've had no issues with either eyeglasses or sunglasses while wearing these. I've worn them 4+ hours with no discomfort at all.Finding the right tips takes time. I've gone back and forth between the mediums, which come installed, and the larges. I even ordered the Comply foam tips for comparison. For now I've settled on the large silicon tips which seam to provide the best seal.Noise cancellation is on par with all my other buds as well as the Airpods Max. There is just the slightest hiss when ANC is turned on. I don't think I've ever noticed that with the Airpods Pro or Max but it's definitely lower than all of my Soundcore buds. Ironically, the ANC is not nearly as good as Bose QC headphones, but I can't stand the sound of the Bose at all.I've had them just about a month now. Overall I'm pleased. I recently got back from a cruise and took these and my Liberty Pro 4s with me. The Beats got way more use mainly because of the phenomenal battery life. I recharged once toward the end of our 7 day cruise. I would say I used ANC approximately 50% of the time. Usually when reading in a crowded area of the ship. On one at sea day, I put them on and just walked around the deck of the ship for hours. I think I covered 7 miles alternating between an audiobook and music with ANC on. No discomfort and the battery may have gotten down to 50%. The case is still a behemoth compared to other earbuds but it is pocketable unlike previous versions. The big marketing point for these is the heart rater monitor (HRM). I've actually not used it for a few reasons. I am mainly a cyclist and have used Strava for years for log my rides along with a chest strap HRM. I also use Strava for walks, runs, etc. Powerbeats Pro does not work with Strava, at least not now. Additionally, I have an Apple Watch which takes precedence over the Powerbeats for any app that does support it. I guess what I'm saying is that I've yet to find a practical use for the HRM in the Powerbeats Pro. After all, what good is heart rate without a bunch of other metrics such as time, distance, etc. And if you're using a fitness watch to capture those, they likely also capture heart rate. That means the only way the Powerbeats HRM is of use is if you only use your phone during your workout. To me that's just impractical. Online reviews also seriously question its accuracy. At this point I doubt I'll ever use it.Being in the Apple ecosystem is a bonus and I appreciate the device switching between my Mac Mini and AppleTV.As for value, I have never paid full price for any of my earbuds including the Airpods Max and I wouldn't do so for these either. If you can catch a sale or use a gift card toward them, I'd recommend that. At this price point, I expect better ANC. This ANC is good, but not great. The sound quality is good, but can be had for less. The Soundcore Liberty Pro 3 may be the best wireless earbuds I've ever used and only cost $129. The HRM is largely impractical. The battery life and comfort are probably the biggest selling points for the Powerbeats Pro. And the case is still huge.AppleCare is definitely recommended. I also had it with my Airpods and did use it once for a replacement bud.
