I like that these are see through. If you're measuring things, like plants or the natural world you can easily see from the back to make measurements as you hold your specimen flat against the ruler. They're a perfect size for smaller measurements (cm and mm) and have English and metric units that are clearly marked on the ruler making mm easy to see in variable lighting. I drilled little a hole at the end carefully with a small drill bit so I could tie a lanyard on which is helpful for tying on and visibility with a colored cord, as they'll be difficult to spot laying on the ground.They are a hard plastic. They are reasonably durable, but with enough strong force they will break or snap (I was using for botany in tall thick brush growing in burned forests. The end of the ruler was exposed from my field vest. Using a lot of force to push through, the ends broke off a few rulers.) However, for general use that doesn't require thick pants, safety gear and aggressive strength the ruler should be plenty sturdy. In fact, I'm surprised the rulers that broke lasted as long as they did before breaking considering how much thrashing they took.

I use these a lot in my studio like pencils, they are the perfect size on my art storage shelf and they are made well.

I use these with graph paper that is lined 10 squares per inch. I didn't realize this ruler is 10 marks per inch until my first order. Although it turned out to be exactly what I need, it is a mistake in the ad. The photo shows it marked in 1/16" inch lines. Be aware, it is 10 lines per inch, or 1/10th inch increments. I use this to make field drawings of houses I measure so I'm pretty rough on them. They do not last long at all with the markings wearing off pretty easily. But the price is right and I haven't seen any other clear rulers with 1/10th markings. I think I've gone through well over 20 of these so far.

I like to read and use a ruler as a guide. The sturdiness of these rulers lets me know they'll be around as long as I don't lose them. Also, their length is perfect for my use.

As a college student who needs to have ruler on hand a lot of the time this product is perfect. For the price, the fact that is comes with 4 rulers that are 6 inches each is amazing. It is especially great if you lose items easily.

Solid plastic ruler! I like that they are strong because I carry them around in my backpack and they haven’t broken yet!

The metric side seems to be properly marked.Unlike the vendor's picture shown on this webpage (which shows standard inch markings), I received four rulers, each of which are marked as shown in the attached photo. Between each Inch mark, there are NOT 8 sections with lines to mark 1/8--1/4--3/8--1/2, etc. But there are 10 sections with lines to mark 1/10--2/10--3/10, etc.Try to find a 1/2" or 1"/4 on this ruler...NOT there!Please remove this product from sale.
