Very satisfied with this angle grinder. Our 30 year old basketball pole and backboard, that had been set in a cement base, needed to be taken down. Did not want to dig up base; cutting the pole at ground level was my choice and this grinder along with metal cutting discs did the trick. Will also be using it to remove rust on bulkhead to cellar, and metal cellar window frames prior to repainting.

I used this tool with a diamond blade, purchased separately. to cut a section of cinder block and concrete to make room for some conduit. I removed the area cross hatched with chalk in the picture. And you can see before and after. It was not a long project and took less than 30 minutes so I can’t speak to its durability. Nevertheless the tool operates smoothly and cut through the concrete with ease. There are other reviews where the on off switch broke off. Mine did not break but it certainly feels fragile and vulnerable to breaking so I was careful with it. I also gave it four stars vs five for this reason but the rest of the tool feels solid and well made. Given I have only one other small project planned where I will use the tool, this has been a great purchase and I’m glad I didn’t spend additional money on a more expensive option to get the same results.

Customer service went out of their way to help me with a problem that I created. (I thought I was missing a part for my grinder, I wasn’t). I will be buying more Avid tools in the future.

I needed an angle grinder to do a few chores around the house. Wanted something not too heavy or big for a DYI'er like me. The grinder works great and the blades are good. I bought some 3rd party 4.5" diamond blades and those fit perfectly and worked fit. Remember your heavy gloves, eye protection, ear protection and if making dust, your breathing protection.** I had a minor issue, and their customer support was fast.

A good powerful grinder

Grinder works as advertised and I would purchase again at this price level. HOWEVER THE POWER SWITCH HAS NO SAFETY TO DEPRESS TO PREVENT ACCIDENTALLY TURNING IT ON. JUST A SLIDE SWITCH EASILY ACTIVATED. Out of the box when I plugged it in it fired off. Fortunately it was on a concrete floor so no harm. No on/off markings.
