Lenovo Thinkpad T420 Notebook PC - Intel Core i5 2410M 2.3G 8GB 320GB SATA Win 10 Professional (Renewed)

I have had this for about a month and really like it. This is a business notebook. Used, but much higher quality than the new ones you see at WalMart for $299. Mine looks new and has worked really well for me. I did upgrade the hard drive to a Solid State drive to speed things up, and being a business model the replacement drive just slides in (the consumer model requires taking the computer apart a bit). My battery life is acceptable (over an hour) - but since a used machine, your results may vary. However, new batteries are available from Amazon pretty inexpensively if you do need one. Recommended if you don't mind a few scratches (potential, random luck if yours will have them) and shorter warranty than a new computer. I did not need any support so cannot comment on that.

Needed a small computer that could support Microsoft office to help out with traveling for Graduate classes (my other laptop is a 17 inch behemoth that doesn't hold a charge at all), and this does the job fine. Only problem I'm having is the battery life. I get maybe an hour out of a fully charged battery while running Chrome and Excel so I just have to keep it plugged it in. I really love the keyboard light function so I can still type while I'm in bed Will be searching for a newer battery in the near future. I've worked on other Thinkpads that my company had in circulation for over 8 years, so that's all I really wanted anyway! If you need a compact, smart, user friendly computer for some light work, this is it!

I've always loved these Lenovos. There is a reason so many companies buy these when they have to buy hundreds of laptops. They are light, some reviews say they feel cheap probably for this reason, but they are very solid machines and "light" is more of a feature, while many cheap laptops are intentionally weighted down for the same reason. It creates the illusion that they are more solid machines. Lenovos are probably the most trusted computers when it comes to laptops. And it's almost impossible to find a laptop with these types of keyboards anymore. The new ones are all so smooth there is no tactile response; you have to constantly feel around and look to type effectively. The keyboards on these Lenovo are often rated best in class.The refurbish job was amazing. It is hard to tell the laptop I got is not new. Even with the mechanical drive, soon to be replaced by an SSD, it booted and loaded as fast as I could have hoped for a mechanical drive. The laptop was also reset to the default and Cortana helped walk me through the setup process.It's also nice that Windows 10 lets you easily create install media to make it easy to replace the hard drive. Luckily mine came with a DVD-R so I could burn it to DVD.

This computer is advertised as having a larger hard drive than it does. It is a ok and dated computer for the value and if you are looking for space this will need an external drive or upgrade in space and is falsely advertised!

battery tab broken on unit. It was broken on inside (spring loaded side of the hook inside battery casing) so I didn't notice at first. Loaded all my files and security subscription before the battery then fell out. The quality control for these units must be very minimal. Not wanting to return the unit after loading everything; I reached out to there customer support. A 5% refund was all that was offered when the price of a replacement is around $45. There customer support told me how unacceptable it was for them to have sent me a defective unit; but it is very obvious they are completely willing to accept sending junk. It is true that I purchased this to save some money; but if there are any other issues: I'm out of luck. Unit seems to work OK; not great. With this company you will roll the dice on what you get

Built For Linux Laptop. Boots Fast.

Bought one for my tween for school in june 2018, has had problems for a while but finally discovered it was the hard drive failing that was freezing windows. The S.M.A.R.T reports super high "current pending sector count" and other errors. Failed crystaldiskinfo. Gonna have to replace the hdd now.The other one i bought in june 2019 for me to mess around with linux. Always used it plugged in until a month ago and discovered the battery lasts about 20 minutes before it shuts down for lack of power.. So gonna have to buy a new battery for it.Both laptops were cosmetically in very good condition, but I'm miffed I gotta spend $100 between a new hdd and battery for a laptops that I spent $200 a piece for.

This refurbished Lenovo far exceeded my expectations for a replacement laptop at a great price point. It shipped and was delivered within two days of my order with free shipping and when it came out of the box, it fired up with the initial configuration and activation (Windows 10 Pro 64-bit) just as if it were a brand new laptop. Cosmetically looks great also even though I know it is previously used and several years old. In summary, this was a very good consumer experience for me and one that I would recommend to anyone who needs a good deal on a laptop. Thanks.
