Like others, I purchased this for a DIY electrolyte option. As far as flavor, there is a noticeable difference compared to plain water, but it is very faint. Mixed with iced tea and you can’t even tell it’s in there.While I’m not as well informed about this stuff, or clear as to which type is better, I do know that if I skip my daily cocktail my body notices.Search the recipe, is really simple… salt, potassium, magnesium. It’s that simple.

I bought this as one of the ingredients to make the drink/fuel I use on some of my long runs, and races. It involves following the LMNT formula (listed on their website), and adding a super secret carb/sugar of my choice. I've been using it for over a year and used it for an overnight 12hr, and my first 24hr which concluded with my first 100 miles in 23h 48m. That was good.I've also found myself adding the full scoop to some of my daily hydration drinks (also high sodium), and loving it. Even better. For some reason my gut tolerates it much, much better than magnesium glycenate/bisglycinate, which goes right through me at anything approaching a meaningful dose. I've actually never had this do anything of the sort, and I've used a heaping scoop a few times. I don't notice it making me more "alert" than glycenate ("calming")... I've read that they have those characteristics, but haven't had any problems taking it in the evening if that's when I happen to reach for it. I find it to feel more "soothing" than anything, and my level of alertness doesn't necessarily change.

Works well! I like that I can just use this powder instead of several mag capsules. The only bad thing is that it has a bitter and slightly fishy taste to it. Yuck. I put it in as little water as possible and shoot it, then have a another drink as a chaser.

I cant tell you anything chemically but making my own electrolites makes a big difference!
