works great
the disk drive I used to have in my pc stopped working a few years ago and I never replaced it. (IIRC I threw my desktop, I can't remember why to save my life, honestly, no hdd at the time, only an m2 ssd so the pc works as normal, but the expensive m-disc compatible disc drive, which I was going to use for data archival and storage but never really did, stopped working correctly and I eventually removed it. Relatedly I need to clean my pc soon, thing is filthy). Anyway, I usually download ps2 roms to emulate since no disc reader. There was one I couldn't find online so I ordered this to rip the copy I have on hand (I own the vast majority of the ps2 games I emulate). It works like a charm, and I ripped a few more games while I was at it. Might rip my cd collection later too. it's been sitting unused for a few years. Oh and while the instructions for this say not to use it with a usb extension, I did because the built in lead is short, and it works fine, though my extender is blue, meaning it's usb 3.0 rated. It's a 3 or 4 foot extension.

CD/DVD player & burner with docking station
This CD player/burner has been good. I was waiting till I had enough time to write this review with it. I bought it for the occasional times I may need a CD player burner for my laptop. My secondary reason was as a docking station. Plus it is a good price point. Cheaper than just a docking station. The Item was Cheaper than a docking station plus I wanted with the added benefits of CDs & DVD's. I've had no issues. It's been a good product. Plus it has a c-cord and USB to connect to your computer & run. The hard shell case is nice. Everything is padded well inside and fits nice & snug. The docking port features on it is what really drew me in like I stated. Even though my newer computer has all these ports too they're more accessible to be plugged in quick. Especially if I want to use 1 of my C-ports and quickly plug something in to share it. It's well made whith a good price and has all the extra features and ports you can use on top of what you already have probably. It's not a Blu-ray player but it can handle all of your CD & DVD- R & RW needs. 👍, Good value!

Works well When directly connected to the PC USB.
The Drive performs exactly the task I ordered it for. Like many of the products we purchase to expand the devices for our 3 USB port laptops, this unit will not work on a USB hub. The unit is Plug & Play. The rest is all petty stuff. The User Manual is printed on the typical 4x4 paper. Get out the bifocals and a magnifying lens. There is a website for customer support/warranty. I could not find a reference to a website to download the user's manual and be able to read/see what the many ports are for on the drive. I assume it is customer support site.

Works Perfectly!
I’m really happy with this external CD/DVD drive. It was super easy to set up—just plug and play, no drivers needed. I used it to play old DVDs and install some software on my laptop, and it worked flawlessly every time. The build quality feels solid, and it’s lightweight and easy to carry. The read and write speeds are fast and quiet. Definitely a great value for the price. Highly recommended if you need a reliable optical drive!

Lifesaver for My Old CD Collection – Works Flawlessly!
This ORIGBELIE external CD drive is a must-have! I needed a way to access my old music CDs and install software from DVDs—this solved everything. Plug-and-play setup was instant (no drivers needed!), and USB 3.0 makes transfers super fast. The anti-skid design keeps it stable, and the 8-in-1 hub is a bonus—I use the extra USB ports all the time. Slim and lightweight, it fits perfectly in my laptop bag. Only downside: doesn’t work with tablets or phones, but for laptops, it’s perfect!

Really useful
I received this product to test and found it very easy to use. Just plug and play - no setup needed. It works well for reading and burning CDs and DVDs, and I liked that it includes both USB and Type-C connections.

drive basically won't function on USB port power. [UPDATED]
drive basically won't function on USB port power. i have another small usb optical drive that runs on usb port power, so i don't see why this one cannot. this drive does NOT come with a power supply, and they don't tell you before you buy it that you'll need one. waste of money. terrible idea for a laptop drive.[UPDATED]So. It shouldn't BE this way, and it's a weird mystery, but here goes. What does NOT WORK (as a simple DVD READER - the reason i purchased it)What does NOT work:plugging the drive into the new Apple Mac Mini M4 Pro's FRONT USB C ports using the drive's USB C plug, will light up the drive, but when you put a DVD into the drive, it will try to read, then the light goes out and it 'dies'.What DOES WORK:Plugging THIS drive into ANY port of an otherwise un-populated NON-POWERED 7 port Yottamaster USB 3.2 HUB where the USB hub is plugged into the SAME front USB C port(s) on a Apple Mac Mini M4 Pro. This works perfectly effortlessly quickly for PLAYING back a DVD using VLC. [that's 98% of the reason i bough the drive.I also I also tried plugging the USB C part of this drive's cord into a USB C to USB A adapter and plugging it into the NON-powered USB 3.2 7 port hub in the SAME front ports and it DOES WORK. So i don't know if the weirdness of NOT being able to plug the drive's USB C connector DIRECTLY into the Apple Mac Mini M4 Pro's FRONT USB C ports is a problem in the Apple Mac Mini M4 Pro, or if it's a problem in the DRIVE. Somebody is doing something NON-STANDARD.It's very disappointing to NOT be able to get it to work correctly while plugged DIRECTLY into the Apple Mac Mini M4 Pro's front USB C ports. I was hoping to get optical drive functionality AND get a few extra ports, AND tidy of the wiring. But this puts me in a spot where i am forced to use a USB HUB.I have NOT tested any of the other functions of this drive such as the other ports.I'd love a provable explanation for where the real issue lies.
