These Work Well, Definitely Not Vacuum Rated Though!
These valve core removal/installers work as advertised! The only downside is that these are definitely not vacuum rated and leak under a vacuum! I pulled these down to less than 10 microns with the micron gauge attached to the end then closed the ball valve and recorded the results (Nylog was used on all threads to get a good seal). These leak at a rate of 5.5 microns per second .... not good when compared with the Appion's!The Appion Megaflow Core Remover/Installers are vacuum rated at 20 micron with a leak rate around 10 microns per minute (0.1 - 0.2 microns per second ... big difference)!Other than leaking like mad under vacuum, these work well for their intended use :o)Apparently, Uniweld has a core removal tool rated at 20 microns but I have seen mixed reviews about them and haven't personally tested them either. For my money, if I only needed one set of core removal tools, I'd start with the Appions first then work my way down to the C&D's or Robinair's if I encountered any issues with the Appions!

I was truly impressed with this device! Great product.
I was truly impressed with this device. I saw similar products demonstrated on YouTube. I needed to replace a leaking valve core on the high pressure side of my air conditioning system on my old Toyota Camry that uses R-12 freon. When I opened the package I could see it was a high quality part. It is very well made. It was very easy to use even though this was my first time to ever do this type of task. I called all the local automobile parts stores in the area and they had never even heard of a tool that allows you to replace a valve core without emptying the system! If someone is trying to tell you it can't be done, they are just wrong. Anyone can do it. It's simple. Don't forget to order some replacement valve cores when you order this part. I ordered the Robinair #40352 valve cores. They also looked and fit great. I have no idea if the valve cores will last since I just put it in today.

Saved a ton of $$$!
If you are brave enough to attempt basic repairs on your HVAC unit, you can save a ton of money versus calling in a "professional". I went this route after calling someone to recharge my unit. They wanted $1500 just to check for leaks, with no guarantee on any repairs! Obviously this didnt sit well with me, so I started training myself on basic HVAC diagnostics and maintenance (youtube is your friend here!). After realizing that one of the service ports on my heat pump was leaking, I got this handy tool to replace the schrader valve. Total cost to change the valve was appx $60 and took 5 minutes. I also got a manifold, temp clamp, and 25 lbs of r410a (all on amazon) and recharged my system. I figure I saved about $1100 after buying the tools and refrigerant and now have a lifetime's supply of r410a (only needed about 4 lbs to recharge my ststem).

I recently purchased this for use doing a/c work for an apt complex. I have used it a few times and I am satisfied. There are a few condensing units that this does not work on because of the tight quarters I am not able to shut the handle. You do have to use two hands as well to tighten the new valve core which I am not too good at yet. It seems pretty sturdy and should last me a while as I am really really rough with all my tools. If I was to purchase a different one, I would buy one that does not have the extra port on it because it does get in the way with some condensing units. I would definitely buy from this vendor because they do make great products. We buy from a vendor that only carries this brand so it must be good right? I can attest that it is a great product.

Just used this to replace my leaky AC valve. It was very easy. I was a little concerned that I might get the core out and not be able to get a new one in, but it was no problem.I did the low side first while the unit was on so the pressure was lower. On the high side I figured I might as well replace that one too while I was there. That one is best replaced with the unit off.Topped off the unit with more gas and new caps. Hopefully it will be good for a few more years.

Great Product
Amana/Goodman 3.5 ton R410A HVAC.After paying Ac company $200 dollars to find a slow leak, that they could not find, I decided to research for myself. I discovered both my plastic schrader valve covers were cracked. I took them both off and squirted oil on the valves and saw tiny bubbles coming from the low pressure side. I purchased this tool and new schrader valves and replaced both schrader valve cores. This took me less than 5 minutes and tool worked as advertised. No more leaks. Great product.Wish I had invented this tool.
