Not a wood surface. Likely a wood product covered with a Formica like wood looking material. Very happy with the step … nice surface area, sturdy, easy to assemble

Q: Is it possible to get a print version of the assembly instructions? None came with the item, and the recipient does not have access to online videos.

I had the step stool sent straight to my Mother. One of her friends (male) assembled it. I doubt very much that he read the directions. He never has before.

Q: How high is this stool, please? Description says 5.9 but one reviewer says it's actually 6.5. Thank you.

My stool also measures 6.5. Maybe if your using it on carpeting you could leave off the rubber feet and then it still measures 6”. But if you have hardwood floors you’ll have to use the feet because the frame is metal. Hope this helps.

Q: Can this be kept outdoors for the summer?

It is meant to be used indoors. I’m sure it could be used for short periods of time outdoors,especially if it is in a covered area. However the top is made of compressed laminate that looks like wood and it would not hold up if exposed to extended exposure to moisture & dew.
