I use the fine vermiculite in my seed start mix with peat moss. Also can be used as a light covering over seed started on the surface.

Looks very good , so I am going to use for my seedlings mix. It's good fine mix to use in your seedlings tray or small plants.

I measured the supposed 4 quarts and it's only about 3 quarts. What gives?

The DUSPRO Recycle Fine Vermiculite for Gardening is very helpful when we grow our many potted plants indoors and outdoors. In Central Florida we have high heat and humid conditions during a long summer season. We have found the vermiculite to be lightweight and absorbent. When the small uniform particles (1-3mm) are mixed with nutritious soil or are added to a soilless potting mix, our plants receive good hydration, aeration, and nutrition without cramping or flooding the roots. I bought this to mix in to make my own potting soil. I like vermiculite over perlite as perlite can rise to the top as you water plants and vermiculite stays in place better. This vermiculite is fine as stated in the listing, it smaller then the vermiculite I bought in the past and works well in the potting mix.

The current product description is for perlite, but when I put in my order there was also an option for vermiculite, which is what I ordered and received.This vermiculite is a very fine, consistent texture, as it should be. I'll combine it with coco coir and perlite to make my seed starting mix.

This fine vermiculite from DUSPRO is working really well in my seed starting mix with coco coir. The 4 quart bag is a good size and a good value for quality vermiculite. Even though it is fine particles, it isn't dusty. Previously, I had been using perlite only, but found that the pieces of perlite tend to rise to the top of the soil with each watering. Vermiculite gives good aeration and improves the soil structure for roots. For this year's lettuce, I sprinkled a small amount of this vermiculite over the top of the seeds to help retain moisture until the seeds germinated. I'm very happy with this product.

I ordered this product to help maintain moisture around my plants. The particles are nice and consistent in size. This product is very similar to others I have tried. I have just planted more veggies in my garden with this vermiculite added to it. Will have to wait and see how the different brands compare.
