Truly outstanding little saw.
I absolutely love this saw. It's small enough and light enough that it's perfect for most any job. And it uses my standard DeWalt 20-volt batteries. This is probably not for the commercial contractors who will likely want a larger, more powerful saw. But for the average DIY person, this saw is great. And it's a DeWalt, so you know it's outstanding quality.

but highly recommended for DeWalt battery users!
The DEWALT DCS391B is a powerful and reliable 20V MAX circular saw. The 6-1/2-inch blade cuts smoothly through wood, and the 460 MWO motor delivers excellent performance. The 0-50° bevel adjustment is precise, making angled cuts easy. Lightweight yet durable, it's perfect for DIYers and pros. Bare tool only, but highly recommended for DeWalt battery users!

Total must-have for hobbyists, and not bad for pros, either.
Light, powerful, and very decent battery life! I bought this for a nonprofit I was working with in Panama. We operated out of a field station in the jungle that ran on a little 1000w hydroelectric plant. Most of the wood we were cutting was tropical hardwood. This little saw got further with that than I ever expected it would. Here are my rough estimates:* Casual project: A+. It's such a blessing to be able to just pick it up off the shelf, take a foot off of a board and put it back. I can't tell you how elated I was to be able to do this.* Day project: A+. I used it a number of times all day long for lightweight hobby-type projects (changing batteries a few times, of course, though not as much as you would think).* Limited professional job: A-. Don't let the minus fool you -- that's still an A! It's just kind of annoying to have to change batteries if you're using it tons.* Heavy professional job: C. Unfortunately, it heats up quite a bit under heavy use, and once it heats up, it shuts itself off. There's no solution for this other than just waiting around for it to cool down. I'm glad that it has the shutoff circuit, but this means it's never going to be a replacement for your plug-in circular saw. That said, it'll cut just about whatever you throw at it, so it's still worth its salt in a pinch. As for notes on cuts, I'm afraid it's been too long since I used it to have good solid numbers. I do want to point out, though, that I used it with some really hard tropical woods (Nispero, cuajao, mahagony...) and have two relatively reliable figures in my head for them:* Doing small cross cuts (like cutting 2x4s and 2x6s to length) I could go just about forever as long as I kept changing batteries (the batteries lasted about 15 minutes under heavy use in these cases).* Ripping boards was very difficult. I could usually get about 10 to 12 feet in 2" - 3" hardwoods before the saw overheated and stopped. Then I had to just let it rest and pick up again when it was cool.

Love this! I would buy the big batteries (and did)
I love this thing. It works breat! I have a couple of big batteries. If I were using it for big project I may need one more. But it is awesome! Not to heavy and a good size for any circular saw projects.

Better than expected
Cuts cleanly and easily. Weight is good. When pinched, the blade stops rather than kicking back, but I never felt like it was struggling. Unless you're job is very small, be sure to use the 12AH battery, but this is a physics problem, not a product problem.
