I purchased these 12-foot fiberglass wire fishing rods to help run cables through the wall for a TV setup, and they worked perfectly. This is definitely one of those tools you won’t need often—but when the time comes, you’ll be very glad you have it.The rods are sturdy, flexible enough to navigate through tight spaces, and the threaded connections hold together well. They made what could have been a frustrating job quick and painless.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Seems good quality, but arrived with the storage tube cracked and completely missing one of its end caps. Definitely should be packed better instead of just a loose tube in an Amazon shipping box.

I use this for fishing wires in existing walls. If there's insulation in the walls, it can be hard to get the wire to go where you want it to. With these fiberglass rods, you can make the connection, and then pull a wire (or string) back through. I like the fact that it comes in a very compact tube, and that I can store the entire set in a small toolbox.

It's too flimsy and the securing piece for the cables can come undone easilyI was routing this through my attic to do a long cat5 run across my attic and I found out about it when the secure cable was MIA when I pulled the rod over.I ended up not even using this thing and just doing the runs myself.
