Great sound and seems well put together
Bought so I can play my CD collection in my home office. Fits perfectly into the available space but more importantly sounds very good hooked up via an optical cable (Amazon: Optical Cable, WARRKY Optical Audio Cable for Soundbar to TV 1.8m / 6ft, [24K Gold-Plated Plug, Metal Case, Braided] Digital Audio Toslink Cable Compatible with Samsung, Sony, Sky, Panasonic etc.) to my Ruark MR1 MK2 active speakers. Handles everything from Radiohead to George Michael to Pink Floyd really well.Lack of display and gapless playback can be limiting but I knew about them before I purchased it and it doesn't impact my listening pleasure. Remote control is limited but does everything you want and is a nice touch. Overall very pleased.

Value for money
This is a super CD player forvtge money. It's great to find something still available to the Hi Fi market that is affordable to the starter market. I gave my daughter my old Denon amp and mission speakers. We added a pioneer 30 deck then I bought her this. It is a great player giving fantastic levels of Treble and bass through old equipment. She has totally changed her music listening and tangible music is back. For a starter unit this is brilliant. 4 stars only because of its size. It's short front and long sides.

Had it for a couple of weeks and very happy with it.
Had the CD player for a couple of weeks and very happy with it. I needed a small desktop CD transport with optical out, that unlike portable CD players would not be noisy when using it on my desk. There are not many reasonably priced new CD players that are small and quiet for a desktop set up, closet others I saw were the Project ones, but they are usually twice as dear as this one. I have it feeding into a Fosi Audio K5 pro (dac, pre-amp) going to iLoud micro speakers; for this set up I am very happy. It is quiet when spinning the CD and seems well made, it is an all metal build (the external enclosure that is) so fairly heavy (maybe also why it is quiet when spinning a CD). Has no display but the buttons on front are easy to use. For my use case I am very happy with it.

Simple to use
I like the compact size of the tangent cd deck, once connected to my amplifier via the optical cable supplied it works great, shame it’s got no display saying what track is being played but that’s only a minor thing, I can live without that, the main thing it plays my cds perfectly without distortion. Very happy with my purchase.

Value but know what you are getting.
Pros: neat compact unit with a very small footprint (195 x 194 x 70mm high), cheap to buy but with good quality audio output, quiet mechanism whilst playing.Cons: no display to give you the track number, handset is limited (it has play, stop, pause, previous, next, eject but you can only select tracks 1 to 6. No shuffle. )

I really wanted to love this cd player
Many things about this cd player are perfect:- the form factor is great, it can sit inconspicuously beside my turntable.- build quality is superb- the insertion and rejection of cds is nice and smooth and quiet.- remote is a good size and functional- the auto-play of cds as soon as you insert them means you can sit down without waiting for the disc to cue and then press the play button. However there is one inexcusable flaw:- gapless playback is not supported, not not only this, the cd player goes even further as to insert an arbitrary 1 sec gap in between EVERY track. Super annoying and on some albums I have encountered it actually cutting tracks slightly short. Example being Post Apocalypto by Tenacious D and Lateralus by Tool.I could probably live with the no gapless if it had a minor stutter in between tracks but the one second gap is a major flaw so I returned. In regards to the sound quality, it is decent (I only used it through digital output) but nothing to write home about. My cambridge topaz sr10 tops it but it has a fault on the cd drawer.
